On the 31st of May the project of the Tempus IV MEDIS "A Methodology for the Formation of Highly Qualified Engineers at Masters Level in the Design and Development of Advanced Industrial Informatics Systems" was successfully completed.
The project was aimed at modernizing training courses on the specialty “Information Control Systems and Technologies” of the Institute of Computer Systems (ICS) using the methodology of Advanced Industrial Informatics Specialization Modules (AIISM), which was developed and handed over to the partner countries of the project by the Universities of 5 European countries, such as: Polytechnic University Of Valencia, University of Stuttgart, University of Porto, Technical University of Sofia and Mälardalen University.
On the basis of this methodology, training courses on 5 disciplines for Master students were revised. ICS teachers attended the training in the partner university - St. Petersburg Polytechnic University on May 2015.
The project purchased the modern equipment and equipped a classroom for 15 training places for laboratory and practical classes. Also training materials for students were produced for project funds.
Teachers involved in the implementation of the MEDES project, during the project implementation, prepared and published in the professional publications 6 articles on the subject of the project. ONPU also received letters of support for the project from industry and companies operating in the IT services market.
During the project implementation, numerous meetings of the consortium of project partners were held, in which other stakeholders, such as teachers of other specialties, master students, representatives of industry and business, leading scientists and specialists in the sphere of industrial information systems, also took part. During these meetings, participants had the opportunity to gain the best practices of European countries, share their knowledge and skills, and also to gain useful contacts for further successful activities.
Thanks to the participation of ONPU in the implementation of the MEDES project, the university received a modern methodology of teaching disciplines, which can be used to modernize other training courses for master students. In addition, this project provided an opportunity to establish close contacts with successful European universities and scientists, which in the future will provide even more useful results and experience for the university.
